Rules of Use for Etigliss

Privacy Policy

Etigliss is a network based application, and as such, it needs to collect and manage a certain quantity of technical and personal information in order to ensure it can function as smoothly and efficiently as possible. The following provides detail of what data is collected and how its confidentiality is protected. 

As a general rule, personal data is never shared with a third party or published in any way.

Data collected via Etigliss-teacher

Collection of personal data is limited to the information you provide when creating a teacher account in order to access the password protected section of this web site. This consist of your name, your e-mail address, and the name and location of your school. The application also collects usage statistics and of course the contents of the exercises that you create. 

This data is only used to improve the application and ensure our system remains safe. It is stored in a way that respects confidentiality and will never be shared with third parties who could send you spam or advertisement.
 
We do however reserve the right to contact you by e-mail but exclusively with a view to encouraging exchanges of an educational nature between teachers and between classes, or to advise you of improvements to the software.

Data collected via the Etigliss App (on the tablet)

The application does not collect any personal information from the tablet (or Smartphone). The only permissions requested to install the App are as follows:

• View network connections: This allows the system to determine if a Wifi or a 3G network connection is available;
• Network communication – Full network access: This authorization allows the App to use internet in order to load the components of each exercise;
• Storage – Modify or delete the contents of your USB storage: This allows the App to temporarily save images and exercises on the tablet (or external SD card if one is available) to improve subsequent loading time of the same exercises.

We commit to not using these authorizations for any other usage than what is described above. In addition, the Etigliss application never accesses personal information such as the address book, phone calls history or any other personal information held on your tablet or Smartphone. Accessing this information is in any case technically impossible unless specific authorization has been granted at installation time.

In order to monitor the Etigliss server and to ensure that no abusive usage takes place, some data is collected during access to the exercises, such as the date and time of access, the IP address and the type of terminal used, as well as the exercise requested. This data is only used to collate statistics.

Any changes to the present rules that might be required in the future will be notified by e-mail to registered users.
